This April Michael Houde (2017) competed in the 30th annual Concert on the Green Concerto Competition and won 1st place in the instrumental category!! He is the first Ridgeview HS student to ever win this competition. He wins a $1,000 scholarship and gets to be featured with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra in the Concert on the Green at St. Johns Country Day School on May 28th.
Congratulations to our Word Languages Department's performance at the 2017 World Languages Regional Festival, where our French Team received 1st Place Overall in the Brain Brawl, five French students received a superior in Declamation and three French students received a superior in Impromptu Speaking. Our Spanish Team also received 1st Place Overall in the Brain Brawl, Oriana Aponte (2018) received a cash award in the International Idol Contest, seven students received a superior in Declamation and eight students received a superior in Impromptu Speaking. We are so proud of you!
Congratulations to our Science Fair Participants. Two IB students, Kaleb Cowart (2017) and Michael Chen (2020) were selected as state recipients of the OPMS Award of Excellence. We had many, many first place award winners. Our IB program has a great group of outstanding future scientists.

Congratulations to Daniel Olis (2017) and Natalie Starr (2017) for receiving Letters of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program. Only 32,000 out of 160,000 advance to Commended Scholars.
IB Student Elaina Anderson (2016) was selected as the Clay County School District nominee for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Arts Program. Each high school nominated one student and Elaina was chosen by a committee comprised of District Administrators as the winner. Her name will be submitted to the state as the County’s nominee and from there she will go through another selection process.
